Bondle Terms of Service
Version: 2026-09-07 Effective: 2026-09-07
1. What Bondle is
Bondle is a private notebook for the people in your life. You record things you want to remember about them, and Bondle brings those things back to you when they are useful — before a call, on a birthday, when you are near a place one of them loves.
By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to both, do not use Bondle.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. One account per person. You are responsible for keeping your password to yourself and for everything done through your account.
We do not ask your date of birth, and there is no age field in the app. The minimum age is a term you accept, not a check we run — deliberately, because collecting age data from a general-audience app creates a children's-privacy problem rather than solving one. See the Age section of the Privacy Policy. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 16, we delete it.
How acceptance is recorded. You cannot create a Bondle account without accepting these Terms and the Privacy Policy; the server refuses a signup that does not, and it refuses one that names a version we have already replaced. It then writes a permanent record of which document, which version, and when — so we can always show you the exact text you agreed to, rather than the text that happens to be current.
Your account is also the only place other people's details live, so keeping it to yourself is not just your own security. Passwords must meet a published minimum, you can change yours at any time from inside the app, and changing or resetting it signs every other device out.
3. Your content is yours
Everything you write in Bondle belongs to you. We claim no ownership of it.
We store it and process it only to run the service for you: to show it back to you, to search it, to build reminders, and to draft messages you asked for. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use it to train any model.
You can export everything as JSON, or delete all of it, at any time, from Settings → Privacy. The export is meant to be complete: every table that holds anything of yours is in it, minus your password hash. Deletion removes all of it from the live database in one action.
4. Writing about other people — your responsibilities
Bondle exists so you can keep notes about other people. That is the whole point, and it is also the thing that puts real responsibility on you.
You agree that:
- You will use Bondle for your own personal, non-commercial relationship keeping — the way you would keep a diary or an address book. Do not use it to build a dossier on someone, to monitor or track a person, to profile people for a business, or as a CRM operated on behalf of an employer.
- You will not record information about a person that you obtained unlawfully, or that you are under a duty (professional, contractual or legal) not to write down.
- You will not use Bondle to harass, stalk, threaten, defame or intimidate anyone, or to record information about someone who has asked you to stop.
- You accept that the people you write about have rights over that information in many countries, including rights to see it and to have it deleted. If someone approaches us about what you have written, we may have to act, and we will tell you when we can.
- If you use Bondle for work — clients, prospects, colleagues — you are the one with the legal obligations that come with that, not us, and these consumer terms are probably the wrong footing for it.
5. Messages Bondle drafts
Bondle can draft a message for you to send. It is a draft. It opens in your own Messages or WhatsApp, from your own number, and nothing is sent until you send it. You are responsible for what you send.
The draft is generated either on your own device or by software we run ourselves — never by a third-party AI service (the Privacy Policy sets out exactly where it runs and what it sees). Wherever it runs, it can be wrong, clumsy, or badly timed. Read it before you send it.
6. Bondle is not advice
Bondle is a memory aid. It is not medical, legal, financial, or relationship advice, and it is not a health record. Notes you keep about someone's health are your notes, not a clinical record, and nothing in Bondle should be relied on for a decision about anyone's health or wellbeing.
7. Paid features
Bondle is currently free to use. There is no paid plan available for purchase in the app.
If we introduce one, it will be sold through Apple's In-App Purchase, and we will show the price, the billing period and what you get before you buy. These terms will then apply:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID when you confirm the purchase.
- A subscription renews automatically unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Your account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- You can view, manage and cancel a subscription at any time in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not retroactively refund the current period.
- Any unused part of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies, not by us.
If you live in the UK or the EU, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days. Where that right applies to a digital subscription bought through the App Store, it is exercised through Apple.
Deleting your Bondle account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel it in your Apple ID settings as well, or billing continues.
8. Availability, and things we do not promise
Bondle is run by one person. We try hard, but we do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not promise that a reminder will always fire.
Bondle is not a backup service. Export your data if it matters to you.
We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export everything first.
9. Ending it
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Privacy. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaks these Terms — in particular section 4 — or that we are required to act on by law.
10. What we promise, and what we do not
We provide Bondle as it is. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular reminder will reach you at any particular time. We do not promise that anything the AI produces is accurate. Bondle is a memory aid, not a system of record.
Bondle is not a backup service. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose. Settings → Privacy exports everything in one file.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and any other liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded. If you are a consumer, you have statutory rights — including, in the UK, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and, in the EU and many US states, comparable protections — and these Terms do not affect them.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows:
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or loss of goodwill.
- We are not liable for loss of data, except where it results from our failing to take reasonable care. This is why the export exists, and why we tell you plainly that Bondle is not a backup.
- We are not liable for anything that happens because of what you wrote about someone, or because of a message you chose to send.
- Where we are liable, our total liability to you for all claims in any twelve month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and USD 50.
You are responsible for what you put in. If a claim is brought against us because of content you stored, or because you used Bondle in a way these Terms forbid — in particular section 4 — you agree to cover the reasonable costs we incur in dealing with it. This does not apply to anything caused by our own breach or negligence.
11. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms in a way that affects what you agreed to, we will raise the version number and ask you to accept the new version in the app. We keep a record of which version you accepted and when.
12. Governing law and disputes
Bondle is operated from the State of New York, United States. These Terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the state and federal courts located in New York are the place where a dispute is decided.
If you are a consumer resident in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of the country you live in, or of the right to bring proceedings there where local law gives you that right.
Talk to us first. Most problems are quicker to solve by email than in a court. Write to the address in section 13 and we will make a genuine attempt to resolve it.
